Message for the week: Brave new beginnings

The dominant astrological influence is still the Saturn/Neptune conjunction at the zero degree of Aries, the starting point of the zodiacal journey through the signs. This is a major, maJOR, MAJOR aspect and is the time to take responsibility (Saturn) for your own energy field (Aries) and your interface with the imaginary world of pure potentiality (Neptune). This is a time for initiating a whole new phase in your life, as if your whole life up until now has been a rehearsal for what you now begin.

Neptune is beyond the rational mind, so you can’t think your way to Neptune—you must quiet the mind to listen to its subtle promptings. Neptune is the doorway to your soul force and higher mind and when your personality and freewill is aligned with it, your energy field comes into coherence. When you are not aligned with your soul force, you are out of coherence and unsettled in your heart.

 The world is in a very chaotic time and we are bombarded with unsettling news and information constantly. Take periodic breaks throughout the day to get off by yourself and calm your mind to listen to the subtle realms. Take 10 slow deep breaths, picturing yourself breathing the spiritual dimension of Neptune into your body so that you become an embodiment of your soul’s intention. 

While Saturn and Neptune are propelling us forward into our future, Mercury turns retrograde on Wednesday for the next three weeks, pulling our minds backward and inward. A time to tie up loose ends, reconnect with people from the past, or redo some projects in light of your current awareness. Interesting times—spirit calling us to move forward, mind pulling us backward. Go figure?

Another strong aspect to be aware of this week is that Mars will be in a disruptive square to rebellious Uranus on Friday., This can ignite reckless behavior—often fueled by anger. To avoid its destructive tendencies, it would be wise to monitor your anger this week. Note which issues push your buttons and realize you are giving your power away to what you are angry at. Vow not to be a slave to your anger this week. With Saturn in Aries, it’s time to call your energy back home and choose another response. Feel the anger, but don’t act on it—choose love and to accept what you can’t control.

Monday: The day starts on a calm note with the Moon in grounded Taurus sextile to Mercury, leading to a clear mind. However, an agitating square to irritable Mars, can disrupt the peace. A good time to practice feeling the anger/irritation/frustration energy and letting it go—it passes quickly. An electrifying afternoon with the Moon conjunct the wild card planet Uranus—expect the unexpected and stay open to sudden flashes of insight. A lively evening is in store with the Moon moving into mentally stimulating Gemini sextile to the Saturn/Neptune conjunction—good for learning, teaching, writing, and communicating.

Tuesday: You will likely feel pulled in too many directions this morning while the Moon is in easily scattered Gemini square to the Sun. There are no further aspects, so as things settle down, a light-hearted day unfolds that is good for allowing serendipity and whimsy to be your guides.

Wednesday: Mercury turns retrograde today. You know the drill: rethink, reconsider, redo before acting. Another scattered morning with the Moon in “too many options” Gemini square to Mercury. The day stays busy but smooths out with the Moon moving into a supportive trine to Mars this afternoon. The Moon enters emotionally sensitive Cancer later tonight square to the Saturn/Neptune conjunction, creating some emotional confusion—it might be best to watch a movie and drift off to sleep.

Thursday: A lovely day and a fabulous evening is in store with the Moon in nurturing Cancer in a flowing trine to the Sun and conjunct abundant and fortunate Jupiter tonight. This would be a good day to pamper yourself a bit and then splurge tonight with something yummy—chocolate cake?

Friday: Mixed blessings in the heavens today with Mars in a disruptive square to rebellious Uranus, while Mercury is also conjunct lovely Venus. The Mars/Uranus aspect can lead to reckless behavior—think before you act. The Mercury/Venus conjunction is sweet and flirtatious—kind words can ease tensions. The Moon is in caring Cancer trine to the Mercury/Venus conjunction today, enhancing relationships and communications. An exciting evening with the Moon in a stimulating sextile to innovative Uranus—activating the desire to shake things up a bit—waffles for dinner?.

Saturday: A grumpy start to a fun and free-flowing day with the Moon in Leo opposite Pluto in the morning and then no aspects throughout the day. A good day to sleep in to avoid the Pluto darkening influence, then plan for a fun and entertaining day.

Sunday: Another fun day is in store that is good for recreation, entertainment, or pursuing hobbies and special interests with the Moon in big hearted Leo with no major aspects—a good day to do something that tickles your heart. Try not to figure other people out with a minor quincunx to the Mercury/Venus conjunction leading to the mind making up stupid questions.
